How Qardex keeps your account safe
Qardex is a custodial wallet: Qardex holds the keys, and your Telegram account is the way in. Here is what that means and what protects your balance.
Open QardexCustodial, not self-custody
Qardex keeps one master key on its servers and derives every user’s deposit addresses from it — the same model a crypto exchange uses. Balances are recorded on Qardex’s ledger.
The upside: there is no seed phrase for you to write down, store or lose. The trade-off: you trust Qardex with your assets. Keep in Qardex only what you are comfortable holding with a service. Qardex is not a bank, and balances are not covered by deposit insurance.
What protects your account
- Telegram sign-inThere is no separate password to leak: you sign in with your Telegram account.
- Passcode on money actionsWith a passcode set, Qardex asks for it before withdrawals, swaps and trades. Five wrong attempts lock it for five minutes. The passcode is stored only as a salted hash.
- Withdrawals checked by a personEvery withdrawal is processed by the Qardex team, and you can cancel it while it is pending.
Four habits that keep your wallet safe
- Turn on two-step verificationIn Telegram: Settings → Privacy and Security → Two-Step Verification.
- Set a Qardex passcodeIn your profile inside the app.
- Never share codesQardex support never asks for your Telegram login code or your passcode.
